Blocking involves the squaring of your needlepoint item.
Threads of the canvas will be checked for colorfast stability. If the colors don't run, the needlepoint will be lightly spritzed with clean water and blocked on a wooden board. Once dried it will be removed from the board. If the colors are not colorfast, the needlepoint will be dry blocked without the use of water.
Please note that many "antique" needlepoints can be very dry and almost crispy. Canvases in this condition will not block well because the stretching of the canvas will cause the fibers to break. Please review the condition of your needlepoint before placing your order. If we find your canvas is in poor condition, we will send it back and refund your order, minus the cost of the return shipping.
